Coventry

Coventry, West Midlands, England

Coventry is a city in the West Midlands of England, located approximately 30 kilometres southeast of Birmingham. It was heavily bombed during the Second World War, with the medieval city centre largely destroyed in the Coventry Blitz of November 1940, leaving only the shell of the old cathedral, which now stands alongside the modern Basil Spence-designed cathedral completed in 1962. The city was historically a major centre for the textile and later the automobile industry, including Jaguar Land Rover. Coventry held the title of UK City of Culture in 2021.
