Bowness

Bowness-on-Windermere is a lakeside town on the eastern shore of Lake Windermere in Cumbria, England, and is one of the principal tourist destinations in the Lake District. It adjoins the town of Windermere to the east and together they form the largest settlement within the Lake District National Park. The town centre is focused on the lake shore with its piers, boat hire facilities, and steamer services. The World of Beatrix Potter attraction and St Martin's Church, which contains medieval stained glass, are among the notable features of the town.
