University College London (UCL) is a major public research university located in Bloomsbury in the London Borough of Camden, England. Founded in 1826, it was the first university in England to admit students regardless of religion and the first to admit women on equal terms with men. The main Bloomsbury campus is centred on the neoclassical Wilkins Building with its distinctive portico and dome, fronting onto a quadrangle. UCL is consistently ranked among the top universities in the world and is a constituent college of the University of London.
