Chatham Dockyard
Chatham Historic Dockyard is a former Royal Navy dockyard on the River Medway in Chatham, Kent, England, which served as a major naval base and shipbuilding facility from the 16th century until its closure in 1984. The site contains one of the most complete examples of a Georgian and Victorian dockyard in the world, with rope works, covered slipways, storehouses, and a sail and colour loft all largely intact. Three historic warships are preserved at the dockyard, including HMS Victory's sister ship HMS Gannet. The dockyard is now operated as a heritage attraction and has been used extensively as a film and television location.
