Carton House

Carton House is a grand Palladian country house and estate located just outside Maynooth in County Kildare, approximately 25 kilometres west of Dublin. The house dates from the 1740s and was designed by Richard Cassels for the Dukes of Leinster, the premier peers of Ireland, who occupied it until the 20th century. The estate encompasses several hundred acres of parkland, a river, and two championship golf courses, and now operates as a luxury hotel and resort. The house is considered one of the finest examples of Palladian architecture in Ireland.
