Connemara
Connemara is a rugged region in the west of County Galway, stretching from Lough Corrib to the Atlantic coast. The landscape is characterised by mountains, moorland, lakes, and a deeply indented coastline with numerous islands. It is one of the largest Irish-speaking areas in Ireland, forming part of the Gaeltacht. The Twelve Bens mountain range and the Maumturk Mountains dominate the interior of the region.
