Bassingbourne
Bassingbourne is a village in Cambridgeshire, England, situated approximately 12 miles southwest of Cambridge and three miles north of Royston. The village is best known as the location of Bassingbourn Barracks, a military facility that served as a base for the United States Army Air Forces during the Second World War and was home to the 91st Bomb Group, one of the most decorated units of the war. The barracks have continued in military use since the war and today serve as an Army training facility.
