Duxford Airfield

Duxford Airfield, Cambridgeshire, England

IWM Duxford is a major aviation museum and former Royal Air Force station located near the village of Duxford in Cambridgeshire, approximately eight miles south of Cambridge. The airfield was an important fighter base during the Battle of Britain in 1940 and retains many of its original Second World War buildings and infrastructure, which are now preserved as part of the museum complex. The site is managed by the Imperial War Museum and houses one of the largest collections of historic aircraft in Europe, with regular air shows and flying displays drawing large crowds throughout the year.
