TRL Research Centre

TRL, formerly the Transport Research Laboratory, is a major transport research organisation based in Crowthorne in Berkshire, approximately five miles south of Bracknell. The site, established in the 1930s, contains an extensive private road network used for vehicle testing, safety research, and the development of road design standards, and has been central to the development of British transport policy and road safety legislation for decades. TRL's facilities include test tracks, crash testing rigs, and specialist laboratories, making it one of the most significant transport research centres in Europe.
