Springhead

Springhead is a village and suburb in the Metropolitan Borough of Oldham in Greater Manchester, located at the foot of the Pennines in the Tame Valley, adjacent to the towns of Lees and Grotton. The settlement developed in association with the textile industry of the 19th century and is situated close to the Medlock Valley and the rural fringes of the South Pennines. Springhead is part of the Saddleworth and Lees ward and is characterised by a mixture of older stone-built cottages and 20th-century suburban housing.
