Tower Bridge
Tower Bridge is an iconic combined bascule and suspension bridge crossing the River Thames in central London, located close to the Tower of London from which it takes its name. Completed in 1894 and designed by Sir Horace Jones and engineer Sir John Wolfe Barry, the bridge features two Gothic Revival towers and a central section that can be raised to allow tall vessels to pass through. Tower Bridge is one of the most recognisable and visited landmarks in the world and has become a universal symbol of London, with a walkway and exhibition within its towers open to visitors.
