Sycamore Gap

Sycamore Gap, Northumberland, England

Sycamore Gap, also known as Robin Hood's Tree, was a famous sycamore tree that stood in a dramatic dip along Hadrian's Wall in Northumberland, near the village of Once Brewed. The tree became one of the most photographed and recognisable natural landmarks in England, situated along the route of the ancient Roman wall that crosses the north of England. In September 2023, the tree was felled overnight in an act of vandalism, an event that attracted widespread national and international attention.
