Swanage Pier
Swanage Pier is a Victorian seaside pier located in the town of Swanage on the Isle of Purbeck in Dorset, extending into Swanage Bay on the English Channel. The current pier, built in 1895, was used historically for the import of stone from the local Purbeck quarries and for passenger steamers, and remains a functioning pier used by leisure boats and divers today. Swanage is a popular seaside resort and the pier is a prominent local landmark set against a backdrop of chalk cliffs and downland.
