Royal Naval College
The Old Royal Naval College is a baroque architectural complex located on the south bank of the River Thames at Greenwich, in the Royal Borough of Greenwich. It was designed by Sir Christopher Wren, with contributions from Nicholas Hawksmoor and Sir John Vanbrugh, and built between 1696 and 1712 as the Royal Hospital for Seamen. The complex later served as the Royal Naval College from 1873 until 1998 and is now home to the University of Greenwich and Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance. It forms part of the Maritime Greenwich UNESCO World Heritage Site and the Painted Hall within the complex is considered one of the finest baroque interiors in Britain.
