Mapperton House
Mapperton House is a Jacobean manor house located near Beaminster in the county of Dorset, set within a steep valley in the West Dorset Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The house dates primarily from the 16th and 17th centuries and is surrounded by notable formal gardens that descend in a series of terraces from the house. The gardens include topiary, a walled orangery garden, and fish ponds, and have been described as among the finest in England. The house and gardens are owned by the Earl and Countess of Sandwich and are open to the public.
