Eden Project

Eden Project

Eden Project, Bodelva, Cornwall, England

The Eden Project is a visitor attraction and educational charity located near the village of Bodelva in Cornwall, approximately two miles north-east of St Austell. The complex was constructed within a former china clay pit and opened in 2001, featuring a series of enormous geodesic biome structures that house plants from a range of global climatic zones. The largest of the biomes contains a humid tropical environment with rainforest plants, while another replicates a warm temperate Mediterranean climate. The Eden Project has become one of the most visited attractions in the United Kingdom and has played a significant role in the regeneration of the local Cornish economy.
