Corrour Station

Corrour Station, Fort William, Highlands, Scotland

Corrour Station is a remote railway halt on the West Highland Line in the Scottish Highlands, located on Rannoch Moor approximately 30 miles north-east of Fort William. At an elevation of 408 metres above sea level, it is the highest station on the National Rail network in Britain, and it has no road access, being reachable only by rail, on foot, or by boat across Loch Ossian. The station was famously featured in Danny Boyle's 1996 film Trainspotting, in which the characters travel there by train. A small station house and a youth hostel are the only buildings in the immediate vicinity.
