Canary Wharf

Canary Wharf, London, England

Canary Wharf is a major business district located on the Isle of Dogs in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets, in east London. Developed on the site of the former West India Docks, which closed in 1980, the area was transformed from the late 1980s onwards into one of London's two main financial centres, alongside the City of London. The district is dominated by a cluster of high-rise commercial towers, including One Canada Square which was the tallest building in the United Kingdom when it opened in 1991. Canary Wharf is served by the Jubilee line, the Docklands Light Railway, the Elizabeth line, and a river bus service.
