Broughton Castle
Broughton Castle is a medieval moated manor house situated approximately two miles south-west of Banbury in Oxfordshire. The house dates from around 1300 and was significantly enlarged in the sixteenth century, and has been the home of the Fiennes family, the Lords Saye and Sele, since 1447. It is surrounded by a wide moat and set within formal gardens, and is considered one of the most romantic and picturesque manor houses in England. The castle is open to the public and has been used as a filming location for several notable productions, including Shakespeare in Love.
