The Bride!

A gothic reimagining of the Frankenstein story set in 1930s Chicago, in which a lonely Frankenstein's monster enlists a scientist to create him a companion. The newly created Bride proves to be far more than a passive creation, as she begins to discover her own identity and agency in the world. Written and directed by Maggie Gyllenhaal, the film blends dark comedy, horror, and romance in a feminist retelling of the classic Universal Monsters tale.
